to update this forever... I have loads of new LO's to share but for now I will share my latest LO, titled "I am Colorful." I actually made this for a challenge running on the Catscrap blog and am more than delighted by it's positive response. Today I found out it is being featured on the Gallery Standouts blog, as well as being one of this week's Catwalk picks. I don't think I've ever spent so much time on a LO before, not to mention the fact that I took this picture myself (on a tripod, on timer with the remote in my hand). I'm sure I looked really silly to those passing by during my hour-long photo shoot! :)

I don't think I've ever created so much in such a short period of time, but it really feels good to be back in the swing of things and feeling creative again. I was going to try to divide these all up by creative teams, but because of sheer quantity, I'm just going to post them in random order. Here we go!

Here it goes... there have been some really fun and exciting things that have recently come my way. I can hardly believe my good fortune!! Several weeks ago, I had decided since I was finally getting into a routine with 3 kids, I was ready to dive back into digiscrapping. My teams had been cut down to 2 (Joana Carvalho and Nancy Comelab) and neither designer had really been active, so things were quite slow. I received some great advice from my good friend Emily, who insisted I pick out designers I wanted to work with and contact them to ask if they needed another team member. This is not an easy thing to do, as it is very common to receive a reply with a very friendly "I'm letting you down easy" type of message. Anyway, I bit the bullet and PM'd a few of my favorite, there-is-no-way-in -heck-they-will-let-me-on-their-team designers and was floored that they responded favorably. Long story short, I have now added 3 more teams: Natalie Braxton (who has seriously been my #1 favorite designer since the day I started scrapping); {we are} storytellers (a great new site that is also the home of my 2 best pals, Tiff Brady and Emily Merritt); and Kasia (a new and very talented designer). I have loved the change of pace and it's been so fun to get to know even more gals in the scrapping world.

busy, busy!!

Does anyone out there use ACDSee?? It's my organizing program that I swear by. Makes life so much easier and my LO's much more diverse in the designer products I use. The problem is, organizing under ACDSee is VERY VERY VERY tedious and time consuming. I've been pretty good at keeping up with it all, but something very bad happened to our desktop about a month ago. His name is NOAH. Yes, my precocious little boy spent about a minute unsupervised at our computer and managed to crash it! I was lucky to have most of my stuff backed up on an EHD, but ACDSee wasn't working properly. You can imagine my feelings of dread when I realized hundreds and hundreds of organizing time could've all disappeared. Anyway, to make a very long story short, I was forced to upgrade to ACDSee 10 (note to self, NEVER purchase just a software download online. make sure you get a hard copy of it in case your computer crashes) but after several weeks of playing around with it, I was finally able to upgrade and save my database as well. Wow that was a long story...

Oh, yea, I must also say that Mike gave me the best birthday present EVER! A photoshop upgrade! YAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! I have been stuck using PSE5 for the past year and was feeling frustrated with the poor shadowing ability it gave me, so after a lot of begging and pleading, I am now the proud owner of PSCS3! I am seeing there will be a lot to learn here, but I'm up for the challenge. If anyone has some good advice or tutorials to share with me, I'm all ears! :)

One last thing... I am hoping to be upgrading my camera soon! Mike promised I could use the extra money from George Bush to buy one. I've done enough research to figure out I want a Nikon D80 camera body. I'm also hoping to fore go the kit lens and get these two instead:
Nikor 50mm/1.8 fixed lens
Sigma 18-200mm/3.5-6.3

I'm so excited and **hope** to convince Mike to let me buy it before I have the baby. We'll see.

So, it's been a ridiculously long time since I've updated this... but not because I haven't been working hard for my creative teams!! It's actually been a pretty hectic few months, as my awesome designers have been busy creating beautiful goodies for me to play with! To top it all off, I was lucky enough to be a guest for the month of January for Jofia Devoe. She is the master of realism and I just can't get enough! For those of you who don't know, she sells at The Digichick, and every new release is 20% off on Thursdays. Needless to say, I pretty much stalk the site on that day. Most exciting news for Emily right now is, she's joined the group of amazing talent over at {We are} Storytellers. The store is set to open on Valentine's Day and will definitely be a smashing success!

I see the month has already passed, which means it is time to post my latest pages... and seeing that we will be moving to Atlanta in under 2 weeks, I'm very proud of myself for actually getting around to doing this!! It's been a fun month for me and I'm finally getting back into the swing of creating LO's :)

Noah's first haircut... what a handsome little boy :)

This was seriously the quickest extraction I've ever done, and I'm surprised at how well it turned out! The picture is actually a really bad one, with the background totally black... which is why I think it was so easy to extract. Anyway, I thought I'd try something new by creating the "picture" myself.
Is this b/g paper not ridiculously cool?! I really love it and think Nancy is the absolute master of texture. I made this one to hang on the wall... and used these colors in hopes of matching with the rug we recently purchased for the new house.

This is probably one of my most favorite pictures of Kira. She genuinely has a really large, cheesy grin and I'm glad to have caught it on camera!
Kira and Hailey... I'm **hoping** these two become close friends when we move out to Atlanta!!

And who can forget the only Christmas tree Mike and I have ever displayed in our living quarters... never mind the fact that we found it by the dumpster. When we graduated from dental school Mike insisted we leave it exactly where we found it :(
This is such a "mom" thing to do... dress your kids up in their outerwear, for the sole purpose of taking pictures. We didn't get out much last winter but I was determined to remember how cute they would've looked if we had! LOL! I have to point out how cool the glittered snowflakes are in this LO. They are the genius creation of Emily Merritt!! Love love love:)

It's funny how suddenly busy one can become, and it always seems to hit all at once. At least for me:) I feel so bad for those designers who have to put up with me through this, but I am so grateful for their understanding and friendship!! To Emily, Nancy and Joana, you ladies are truly the best! :)

Anyway, I am finally starting to feel better and am no longer on the verge of puking every time I fire up my PSE5, so I hope to be creating more in the coming month... or at least until we move! LOL! All 3 of my pages are mostly created with Emily Merritt goodness... she has truly become the master of wonderful textured papers as well as super fun elements.

Life has forced me to slow down a bit, so there isn't as much to share as there would normally be. I am still a part of 4 amazing teams and feel so lucky to be working with designers that understand my pokiness right now. Before I begin, I MUST rave about my newest love, ADOBE LIGHTROOM. This is an amazing program that allows transformation of photos in a way I never knew possible. Here's a great example for you... I was making a LO yesterday that I knew would require an old picture from the 40's or 50ish era. Nothing I could find would suffice. Well, Lightroom to the rescue! All I did was take a few snapshots of myself in the living room and let one of my Andie Smith presets work its magic and BAM....

It was THAT simple! Now, the program can be kind of pricey, but if you have a spouse or child who attends school you can pick it up at journeyed.com at a FRACTION of the price. Totally worth it IMO.

This is a really fun kit Dani Mogstad put out today. It's for Halloween pics, but not the normal Halloweeny type kit. This was our pumpkin picking experience last year before Halloween.

Time to update the blog again! I want to start off on the most exciting event of the past several weeks--- I have officially won a digi contest that was not associated with random chance! Ha ha. Seriously, though. I was in complete shock when I saw the news on the DIGI DARE blog. The dare was to scrap a "first" of something... I chose to scrap my first miracle, which I definitely consider Noah's speedy recovery after being so sick at birth. So, I can't exactly update one blog without doing the other so here I am! Scrapping is still managing to run my life! Well, my free time anyway. There have, however, been a few changes in my scrapping life... the first exciting change is that Emily Merritt is just now turning DESIGNER and sells her fun creations at the digichick!! Emily and I have become acquainted over the past few months, when she figured out her sister is in my ward and practically lives next door to me! Anyway, Emily is an amazing scrapper and on almost every desirable creative team in the business, so the idea of her now designing is super exciting! She has also invited me to be on her creative team, which will be lots of fun! Here are a few pages I've done with her stuff:

This will probably be the last time you see much of Lauren Reid's goodies, as I have decided to step down from her team, in order to make more time for Emily.

More change and added opportunities have come my way in just a short amount of time! I have added to my busy schedule yet another team, but this one has seriously been my ultimate dream job since I've become familiar with the designers out there. I am officially a Dani's Girl! Dani Mogstad has always inspired me with her incredible talent in not only designing but scrapping, too. If you're ever up for some eye candy, check this out! Being on her team is a highly coveted position, which is evidenced by the amount of responses she got when she had an open call several weeks ago. Out of 125 applicants, I was one of the lucky ones chosen for the team! I still cannot believe it.

Other big news... I am now a full-timer on Christina Renee's CT. It has been so fun to be a guest there and is a dream to now be a permanent member of such an elite team! This girl is the queen of grunge and working with her has allowed me to try out other scrapping styles. Here are the pages I've done with her goods...

This was Father's Day 2006... we spent most of the day with Noah in the NICU (hence Mike's hospital gown)
This one is "U R Mine," and was meant to be normal pictures of Noah's birth, free from feeding tubes and central lines... sometime soon I will scrap his time in the NICU, but I wanted this one to be happy :)

I can't say enough about Joana's kits... they are definitely the easiest things to work with for me... for some reason my LO's come together lightening fast when I use them, which is a nice change since it usually takes me forever to complete something. This one is titled "Enamored."

This LO is definitely one of my favorites. I love the picture and the cool elements Joana has in this kit. I took this picture of Kira watching her beloved Curious George movie. No one can get her attention for more than a few seconds when she is watching! LOL! It is titled "Concentration."

My final news is that Two Sisters Designs from Scrapartist.com have asked me to be their guest for the month! I couldn't be more thrilled, as I use their cool "beauty marks" on a lot of my pages. They are actually having a sale right now, so check out their stuff if you are interested!

My last bit of news is that I am a guest this month for Amanda Rockwell and Zoe Pearn (I extended with her)... so you'll be seeing some upcoming LO's with their fun designs! This next week will be kind of crazy, as Christina Renee has just opened up her new store and will be celebrating her Grand Opening. There are challenges taking place all week at DST and I will be hosting the template challenge on Saturday! I realize I am way behind on updating this. I have a bunch of LO's that still need to be loaded, but that'll have to wait until I return from vacation. In the mean time, I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I've just been notified that my LO "Little Miss Sunshine" has been spotlighted on the Dishin' the Digi- Coast 2 Coast show on DiScTalkRadio. The show will run for TWO WEEKS, from 07/03-07/16. I've seen so many talented artists featured on the program and can hardly believe I've now joined the ranks! Thank you ladies!!!!!!!

I'm not a very good blogger. Even when it involves scrapping! LOL! I have a bunch of new things to show, and a few exciting announcements! First thing's first... I have been chosen as this weeks digi-lift at The Digi Shoppe! I am actually a cheerleader for the site, so I've gotten to know the girls there a little bit, but had no idea this was coming! Second thing: Nancy Comelab has come up with an exciting new feature for her blog.

See my name there?! Every week each one of her CT girls will "hijack" her blog and run a contest that goes for that week. Prizes are promised to be generous, which is always the way with Nancy! My scheduled week will be the very last week of August/ first week of September, so make sure you mark your calendar!

This I scrapped with Lauren Reid's cute Hot Momma to Be kit. I love that it isn't too cutesy but still creative enough to scrap those pregnancy photos! This was taken about a week before I had Noah. I wanted to do something creative here, and decided to list all the names we were considering, along with some random "favorite facts" of mine at the time. This is how Noah spends his time when we are relaxing on the deck. The kid cannot sit still to save his life! I used Joana Carvalho's new kit called "little fish boy." The thing I absolutely love about Joana's stuff is her eclectic style. Her pieces are so unique and can never be found in others' designs.
And my final page... this is Noah's first experience with grass. It's always fun to see a child discover something for the first time. One of my favorite things about having kids, I think. I made this with a heavily altered template by Tiff Brady/2 sister designs and threw in some Christina Renee painted glitter to give it an "earthy" feel. I think is probably my favorite one so far. It was a lot of fun to do!

Exciting News

I thought I'd start this off by sharing some fun news! Just a few weeks ago I had decided I needed to make some changes with my creative teams because it was starting to feel a bit overwhelming. As hard as it was to say goodbye, I stepped down from Kaye Winiecki's team. Well, life has been CRAZY since then. In just the past week, I've received 3 different invitations to join some AMAZING teams. I am now a proud creative member of Nancy Comelab, Lauren Reid, and Joana Carvalho! I cannot believe it, really. I feel so honored to have been asked! To top this all off, I was also personally invited to join as a guest this month for Christina Renee AND Zoe Pearn. For those of you who don't know these ladies, you'll be seeing many future LO's with their goodies, so stay tuned! You can also check out their stores by clicking on their respective blinkies. I am so excited to be starting an official scrap blog. It seems like these days every scrapper has one, and quite frankly I didn't see the need. Well, I've received some feedback about the family blog... namely, it should consist of more family and less scrapping! LOL! So, I decided to devote a blog to my scrap life, that way those who don't care will not be forced to read :) Let the games begin!
